Who May Register to Vote
You may register to vote if you meet the following criteria:
- You are a United States citizen
- You are a resident of Kentucky
- You are a resident of the county for at least 28 days prior to the election date
- You are at least 18 years of age (or will be by the date of the next election)
- You are not a convicted felon or if you have been convicted of a felony, your civil rights must have been restored by executive pardon
- You have not been judged by a court to be mentally incompetent to register and vote
- You do not claim the right to vote anywhere outside Kentucky

Re-Registering to Vote
You will need to re-register to vote when:
- You move
- You change your name
- You change your political party affiliation
The Deadline to Register to Vote
In Kentucky, the deadline to register to vote for an election is 28 days before each election day, so please register early!
The deadline to switch political parties, if you wish to vote in the primary, is December 31 prior to the primary election.
